The first trimester

What happens in the first three months of pregnancy?

In the first trimester (the first three months of pregnancy), the breasts grow and feel tender and nipples become more sensitive. It’s a good time to start discussing breastfeeding with your health-care providers.

A) Breast changes in the first trimester

The first three months of pregnancy is called the first trimester. During this time, the breasts grow and feel tender and the nipples become much more sensitive.

These changes are often the first noticeable effects of pregnancy.

This is a good time to start discussing breastfeeding with your health-care providers (Rosen-Carole 2015).
