Causes of a reduced milk supply

Why did my milk supply go down?

There are many possible reasons for a reduced milk supply. They can be grouped into five categories: (1) inadequate milk removal; (2) medication; (3) hormones; (4) breast trauma; and (5) the mother’s health. Some mothers with a reduced supply can increase their supply and return to exclusive breastfeeding while others may have to supplement their babies with milk permanently.
