The following is a tool to help you find the reasons for your baby’s crying.
It is normal for babies to cry occasionally and we believe that there is always a reason for crying. When parents don't understand the reason, they may feel that their baby cries all of the time or that there is something wrong with their baby. However, once the reasons are understood, the cause can be addressed, and the crying time reduced.
Some reasons for crying are random and include being:
- In need of attention and being held.
- Afraid of strangers.
- Too hot or too cold.
- In a dirty diaper.
Other reasons for crying can be divided into groups based on when they happen in relation to feeds: (a) before, (b) during, or (c) after.
